John Mayer – I Will Be Found (Lost At Sea)

It doesn’t matter where you roam
When no one’s left to call you home
I might have strained a bit too far
I’m countin’ all the moonlit stars

I’m a little lost at sea
I’m a little birdie in a big old tree
Ain’t nobody looking for me
Here out on the highway

But I will be found
I will be found
When my time comes down
I will be found

Somedays, I think it’s all okay
Some nights, I throw it all away
I saw her face and I could tell
My ghost had left the town as well

I’m a little lost at sea
I’m a little birdie in a big old tree
Ain’t nobody looking for me
Here out on the highway

But I will be found
I will be found
When my time comes down
I will be found

I’m a little lost at sea
I’m a little birdie in a big old tree
Ain’t nobody looking for me
Here out on the highway

Baby, I’m a runaway train
Baby, I’m a feather in a hurricane
Maybe it’s a long grey game
But maybe that’s a good thing

‘Cause I will be found
I will be found
When my time comes down
I will be found

So I keep runnin’ ’til my run is gone
Keep on ridin’ ’til I see that dawn
And I will be found
I will be found

B-U-S-T-E-D Concert THIS Tuesday!

Totally epic, totally epic!

This makes up for the three years when I couldn’t go to gigs due to uncontrollable panic attacks. It’s actually a standing area at the front so bodies all huddled up together. Hopefully I’ll be okay and excitement will outrun anxiety! I do wish I was going with my high school best friend but oh well… AND it’s a Meet & Greet. #Slaying

#Contradiction

I’m still dancing
Now we’re burning
The heat was rising
And now we’re breathing more and more

Can you see me now
Can you hear me shout
When I’m dancing through the fear

Will you catch my fall
Do you know me at all
It’s like you never notice me
It’s like you never notice me

And I’m still trying
I’m not tired just yet
My eyes are drying
I never dream that you forget

Can you see me now
Can you hear me shout
When I’m dancing through the fear

Will you catch my fall
Do you know me at all
It’s like you never notice me
It’s like you never notice me

In my room there was doubt
Now no words can come out
We were friends, we had heat
Now I choke when you speak
Because you never notice me
Because you never notice me

Can you see me now
Can you hear me shout
When I’m dancing through the fear

Will you catch my fall
Do you know me at all
It’s like you never notice me
It’s like you never notice me

Notice me

Fate turns cruel you’re on your knees, so desperate for one truth….

Remember that blue crystal sky
The sun reflected in your eyes
Kissed me unexpectedly
A moment I just can’t forget
We filled the air with promises
Took them up so tenderly
But life never asks you what you want
It’s just gonna have its way
Sometimes it doesn’t give like it takes

If I never see your face
If wings take you away from me
And tomorrow never happens, baby
If the world comes tumbling down
And crumbles all around us
Fate turns cruel
You’re on your knees
So desperate for one truth
Know that I have loved you

Don’t think I’ll write another letter
Or watch another pink sunset
Without thinking about you
I take a walk along the blue seaside
How will I sleep at night
How will I wipe the tears from your eyes

If I never see your face
If wings take you away from me
And tomorrow never happens, baby
If the world comes tumbling down
And crumbles all around us
Fate turns cruel
You’re on your knees
So desperate for one truth
Know that I have loved you

Without a single hesitation
Without thought or reservation
Baby, I’ll be waiting
Even if I never see your face
And wings take you away from me
And tomorrow never happens, baby
If the world comes tumbling down
And crumbles all around us
Fate turns cruel
You’re on your knees
So desperate for one truth
Know that I have loved you

I have loved you

If I never see your face
If wings take you away from me
With all my heart and all my soul
The world comes tumbling down
And crumbling all around
I have loved you

If I never see your face
If wings take you away from me
I have loved you….

“The Anthem”

It’s a new day, but it all feels old
It’s a good life, that’s what I’m told
But everything, it all just feels the same

At my high school, it felt more to me
Like a jail cell, a penitentiary
My time spent there only made me see

That I don’t ever wanna be like you
I don’t wanna do the things you do
I’m never gonna hear the words you say
And I don’t ever wanna

I don’t ever wanna be you
Don’t wanna be just like you
What I’m sayin’ is, this is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
You, don’t wanna be you

Go to college, a university
Get a real job, that’s what they said to me
But I could never live the way they want

I’m gonna get by and just do my time
Out of step, while they all get in line
I’m just a minor threat, so pay no mind

Do you really wanna be like them
Do you really wanna be another trend
Do you wanna be part of their drill
‘Cause I don’t ever wanna

I don’t ever wanna be you
Don’t wanna be just like you
What I’m sayin’ is, this is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
You, don’t wanna be you

Shake it once, that’s fine
Shake it twice, that’s okay
Shake it three times, you’re playing with yourself again

You, don’t wanna be just like you
What I’m sayin’ is, this is the anthem
Throw all your hands up
Y’all got to feel me, sing if you’re with me

You, don’t wanna be just like you (be just like you)
This is the anthem throw all your hands up
Y’all got to feel me, sing if you’re with me

Another loser anthem (whoa)
Another loser anthem (whoa)
Another loser anthem (whoa)
Another loser anthem

Concert review: The Shires @Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff

DSC_0804

Wednesday 20th January 2016 at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena had The two Big The’s’ of music right now: The Shires and The Corrs. I must confess I had not heard of the opening act. This duo consists of Crissie Rhodes and Ben Earle. They are a British duo and their music is ‘new country.’ They were a fantastic opening act their songs really catchy and I regret arriving a little late as I did not get to watch their whole performance- they were that good!

Other songs played: “Brave”

And the upbeat party track: “Friday Night.”

Notably their name is familiar to me because this is literally what I call my hometown Hereford. Back in summer 2014 I even wrote and subsequently published a poem about Hereford and refereed to my Hometown in the poem as The Shire. It’s my nickname for the place where I was born and raised. I even designed a mug with photos of Herefordshire + the poem on it. Weird coincidence. Speaking of which when I attended my 1st ever concert which was John Mayer’s show the opening act was none other than Hereford’s finest: Ellie Goulding. Lol!

I read the book you read, tasted the words you said
Our story is darkening with time
One fading afternoon
The leaves dried in your car, no picture understood
But I had a feeling I would find, you hid it all from me
And I’ll miss you forever
Let’s hope we’ve always summer

Yeah bring on the night, I don’t care
Turn on the dark, I’m not scared
Spirit money to a flame
Ask that I’ll see you again (that I’ll see you again)
Yeah bring on the night, I don’t care
Turn on the dark, I’m not scared
Wherever it is you left me behind
I’ll follow you down the path of my broken heart

Flowers on Edith Grove, wilt like a love note
Every day I’m passing by, I say a little prayer
And I’ll miss you forever
Let’s hope we’ve always summer

Some days I miss my Best friend from #Highschool

“The Quarter Life Crisis Poet”I can’t help but think that I should be going to the forthcoming Busted concert with my best friend from high school….

mgid:file:gsp:scenic:/international/style-intl/general-news/november2013/1-mcbusted-545.gif

Then I remind myself:

What I miss most is being carefree, just being curious and doing silly stuff and laughing at stuff we did like stealing a trolley and naming it Herbert. Then I realize I have my art. I just write poems about it or I look into pop culture for some reminder or symbol of what was and make comparisons in my head then get lost in the pop culture reference and forget about what once was…. Because it’s gone forever.

The Corner Turns…

As we left our teen years we sang: “Just around the river bend.” Now we’re older and you’re no longer here. We laugh no more. I miss you Designer Sofa. And all your silly ways. Best friends. We were.

To the fashion designer. To the starving artist. All of it was never meant to be….It’s Best we not be Besties like Before. In part it was my fault. Sorry, sorry, her fault, his fault.

Miss you, confuse you, and don’t have a clue about you.
